Emily joined our Energisers programme as did not know what to do next. She had left school at 14 with no qualifications and few social skills. Emily worked on a one to one basis at first to build her confidence and also attended career placement appointments with her worker to start to plan her possible progression routes. Emily began to get into a routine and started to plan for her future. Emily had always wanted to work with children and so the worker organized an interview and some volunteering opportunities with local after school clubs. As Emily's confidence was growing she agreed to join a group programme which was a major step towards her goal of getting a job and working in a team.
Attending the sessions on a weekly basis and with phone support enabled Emily to establish her own routine ready for her to take the next step. After eight months of support, her progress was complete when she secured an apprenticeship with the local authority in a childcare setting.
