The Relationships Centre launches its new website!!
The local Warrington charity recently unveiled its new website at their Annual General Meeting on the 9th October 2009, to also coincide with the publication of their annual report.
Lucy Hindmarch, Acting Director explained that the website had been a collaboration between the staff team and a small local company who wanted to help the charity update their message and streamline their approach to media communications, as well as contributing to charity.
Previously the charity had a number of different websites covering their many various services delivered across Cheshire and Merseyside. However the staff felt that one comprehensive website would communicate the charity's message more effectively and everyone is extremely happy with the results.
This year The Relationships Centre is Warrington Guardians charity of the year and its imperative that the website can be kept up to date with all the news and events happening around the Life Skills Academy campaign. The new website design is therefore easy to navigate and to update.

A new local charity for families and partners of those serving in the Armed Forces
7th Oct 2009
Inspiring women finalist 2009 entrepreneur Pam Arnold is calling on all those interested in joining a working group to help set up a Warrington based support service for families and partners of those serving in the Armed Forces.
Pam, whose son is currently on tour, stated "Recently my son was posted to Afghanistan and was looking for some local support and practical advice and found there was no local service available". Pam is seeking the communities support to address this gap. Arnold continues "I know that we in Warrington are immensely proud of the commitment and selfless dedication our soldiers show to their country. We need to do our part and support the families and loved ones left behind".
To help get the charity started we need people to offer their time and skills however limited, in the following areas:
- Establish board membership and structure.
- Set up task and finish groups to create a service users database; organised fundraising events, communications, promotions and campaign programmes.
- Development of client support services such as a listening ear support service, information and advice point, counselling and therapeutic services as well as employment and personal support programmes.
"We are fortunate to have the support of the Relationships Centre who have agreed to help. But we will need our own base so if anyone has space please give me a call". Arnold continues "This is an important service as often the families do not know where their loved ones are and have to pick up the pieces when things go wrong.
Not knowing where they are, or if they are ok, is hard enough especially with so much media attention, but the loneliness and isolation coupled with irrational fear can affect children, relationships and home life. We want to help and support the family so when their loved one comes home they can enjoy what time they have together. In situations where there are problems such as injury or loss, issues with finance etc there will be practical as well as emotional support available.
If you know someone or a family in the Armed forces please feel free to pass this information on or if you would like further information on how you can help please contact Pam Arnold on 07834 326706 or email pam@healthyrelationships.org.uk
