Dont suffer in silence from the bullies...
23rd Feb 2010
Bullying and abusive behaviour is not acceptable in any social environment and even the government cant avoid the issue as seen in the latest news headlines this week.
Victims of bullying can see their confidence and self esteem drop and sometimes young people will see running away as the only option to get away from the bullies to a place they cant be found. One in nine young people under the age of sixteen run away every year in the UK usually because of abusive or bullying behaviour in the home. Running is not a permanent solution though and will cause those around the young person stress and worry.
So who can you turn to for help?
Well here at the Relationships Centre we have a project called Talk dont Walk which works with young people who need help and advice to overcome difficult situations such as bullying and prevent them from running away. Our friendly team will invite you in to our office where you are able to tell us in more depth what is causing you concern. We will then talk you through our support programme and arrange your next session and look at an action plan of support.
Dont struggle on your own to deal with relationship problems. If you dont feel confident talking to your family, friends or teachers then call us in confidence on 01925 246910 and speak to one of our team.
Over the next few months Talk dont Walk will be coming into schools and delivering awareness raising assemblies so keep a look out for us!
