Voluntary positions

Volunteer Reception/Administration Support

Location: Halton

We are looking for two enthusiastic volunteers at our Halton Women's centre. Duties will include supporting the organisation by providing general office support, such as typing, filing, answering the telephone, ordering stationery, meeting and greeting service users and professionals and support project workers when needed.

As a volunteer you will need to be empathic, reliable, non-judgemental, have strong organisational skills, an appreciation of a busy office environment, a sense of humour, and a professional manner and a willingness to . You may have experience in using Microsoft Office, previous reception and telephone skills but this is not essential as full training and support will be given.

Please note that we operate a criminals disclosure policy and all positions are subject to a CRB check.

Volunteering opportunities : Currently at the Halton Womens Centre, Runcorn.

The Women's Centre provides a range of services dedicated to the well being of women in Runcorn. To continue to provide this unique service we would welcome women from a range of backgrounds to come and join our team. All positions require a commitment to the values of the women's centre and if you would like to find out more about what the centre does or would like a visit or speak to someone, please give the Manager Lindsay Jolly a call on 01928 566073.

  • Listening ear service. These posts are looking for someone who is sympathetic, non judgemental. Training will be given to the right candidate.
  • Gardeners. An exciting opportunity to develop the land around the centre and possibly grow our own veg with the aim to encourage children's group / families to take part in planting a fresh future.
  • Craft Support staff. This role requires imagination and creativity to support the current group by setting themes and planning projects.
  • Women's Issues group support workers. From child birth to figuring out the menopause. We welcome women who have an interest in all areas of women's issues and want to help other women understand more.
  • Dance Divas. We need a creative imaginative person required to support self expression through dance and movement, needs to be H&S aware.
  • Read & Write group work facilitators. If reading and writing rocks your world, this is an opportunity to share the passion and support others in the enjoyment of literature and creative writing.
  • Holistic therapist. We are looking for someone to provide a beneficial service to assist people to relax in a welcoming environment, using massage, reflexology and other therapies.

Fundraisers and Event Managers

We are looking for motivated individuals who can help raise funds for our Life skills Academy Appeal.

As a volunteer, you will have an interest in fundraising with a possible background in marketing or event management, strong organisational skills, an appreciation of a busy office environment, a sense of humour, and a professional manner. You will be able to work with the management team and young people to turn their vision and dream into a reality and be an excellent communicator who can achieve results.

Trustees

The Relationships Centre is a continuously growing organisation and we are looking for trustees from a professional background to support the organisation during our expansion.

As a Trustee you will need to be non-judgemental, trustworthy, flexible, committed and honest. You will have an appreciation of the voluntary sector and experience within a business environment would be an advantage although no particular skills are required.

Volunteer Trainee Counsellor Placement and Qualified Counsellors

Location: Warrington & Halton

We are looking for part qualified and qualified counsellors to work at our offices in Warrington and Halton, working with clients who are facing relationship difficulties. The main focus areas are violence, abuse, relationships, mental health issues also self-esteem and confidence.

As a volunteer you will be non-judgemental, reliable, trustworthy, committed, hardworking and methodical. You will also have good organisational skills, appreciation of a busy office environment, a sense of humour, and a professional manner. Trainee Counsellors must ideally be in their 2nd year of diploma. Qualified Counsellors would ideally be 2 years post qualification, but all enquiries are welcome.
